Atari Adventure

I am so exhausted and very very tired. I hate being this way but I'm not going to crash just yet. Had a good busy day at work. Was able to finally buy the Necklace and the Earings that I've wanted for months. And then we got the matching camouflage hat today so I bought that as well. Am super excited. I'll take pics and post them tomorrow.

Onto a more silly topic. As I've mentioned before my Uncle lives with us, so on occasion we get to have his six year old son, Nicky with us on weekends. I came home after work and he was here. Mom and I had to leave but when we came home tonight, Nicky came out to the living room. We were talking a little and he noticed the box under the TV stand and asked what was in it. I thought it was the box that had the old PlayStation and the modern Atari that Daddy bought for Momma a few years ago for Christmas. I told Nicky to pull it out and sure enough that was it. I asked Nicky if he would like to learn how to play the Atari since he'd never played anything like it really....He said yes, and so our adventure for this evening began.

We took it out and as I'm untangling the cords Nicky pulls out the memory card for the PS1 and says "What game is this?" I had to try not to laugh before I told him it was a memory card. I get it set up and I show him how to turn it on. I show him the joystick, and the one single button on the controller. I then proceed to start a few games that I once played very well. Its been years since I played it, and so as expected I was rusty, though I did better than I expected to. One game Nicky wanted to know about was called "Adventure" It's this weird one with a castle and dragons that look like sea horses or something, I don't know lol. But I was going around it, and both of us were confused as all hell...and the screens kept changing look and layout and even though I was back tracking my steps I wound up in this weird, blue and gray maze like thing...I died there because the dragon was able to follow me, but this isn't the point.

I stopped that game and showed Nicky a few others, then handed him the joy stick and told him to experiment since there were a ton of games on there. So he plays a few, likes it or doesn't and like any six year old, he wants to see what other games there are, and so restarts and goes back. Eventually he winds up playing "Adventure" once more. I flick my eyes up occasionally to see how he's doing but for the most part I am preoccupied with the computer. Eventually i see he's found our blue and gray screen of death maze. And as soon as he was on that screen he says in a very sly voice... "Oh...you.....Alex told me about you!" My mom and I just lost it. Neither of us were expecting him to say something like that, it was hilarious. I can't help but giggle now even just thinking about it.

Nicky is a sweet kid, well behaved, though not trained properly, he is learning and he learns well. We love having him around the house, he's not a pain, or a nuisance. He's a good kid ^_^ Here is a pic of Nick and Herc that my sister took several months ago. He really does love dogs, and is attached to Hercy. They were really like this when she took the pic, she just edited the glow and lighting. Isn't it cute?

Beasties

Beasties...or Beasts as I call our animals...They really are a joy to have in one's home and life. They are another member of the family and they do some wonderful and amazing things. In our home we have three such beasties. The first being my dog Hercules. He's is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and the best dog around. He looks big and bad, he acts big and bad, but he's just a teddy bear of a dog who doesn't realize his age just yet.

Yeah that's my boy ^_^ He's a good boy, well behaved and loyal to the very fiber of his being. We've had him since he was 9 months old, and now he's 11. He's got a bad knee, but we take good care of him. We're just thanking the gods it's his knee and not hip displacia (no clue if I spelled that right or not) ...which dogs of his size and breed are prone to getting. He sleeps on my bed with me, stereotypical of the dog and his little boy always being together, you know? Of course in this case it's a grown woman but the affection is still there. I think he'd rather be with me than anyone else in the house, though I don't know why. He hates it when we leave without him, and is always there to greet us when we come home excited to see us even if we only stepped out into the front yard for a moment. It's hard to remember a time in my life before him, but there were almost about 11 1/2 years before this wonderful, happy dog became apart of my family. This is Hercules the Gray.

Then we have out first cat. Lucifer. When he was a tiny kitten we found him under my Aunt's car port just about 5 weeks old. The vet told us Lucifer was a female. I named the cat Lucifer and we caller her Lucy for short. This was little Lucy...

Well a few weeks later, when we started taking the kitten in for shots, we found out She was a He. Lucy became Luce. My naughty little kitty who has fully lived up to his name. Now he's just over a year old...about 15 or 16 months now, and he's a big boy. He likes to burrow in my blankets, and pull down the blinds in my window trying to look out or heaven forbid get between them! He's SOOO naughty! Always climbing on things, onto my altar, onto my night stand, onto my desk, or my shelves. He's so naughty, but very lovey too. He climes because he's bored and antsy and playful. He is Lucifer the Naughty.

The last beastie that we have is my sister's cat O'Mally. He's an orange fluff-ball who I think is partly Main Coon but I'm not sure. He loves my sister a lot, she saved him from the cold and wild when he was born a little kit. He's wary of like everyone else. He likes me we're pretty sure, but be always runs away. We think he either doesn't want to like me and can't help it, or that he just doesn't want my sister thinking he is replacing me with her. But he likes my mom well enough so who knows.

When my sister moved back home, she brought Mally with her. He'd been in a loooong car ride, and was smelly from spraying in fear and so the first thing she did when we got home was give him a bath. Funniest thing in the world by the way. Well afterwards she sat on the footstool of the rocker, and held him in a nice warm towel cuddling him and drying him. Luce came down the hall to see what was going on. So I picked him up and brought him over. Lucifer was about 6 months old at the time. He was also a little brat, thinking he was big a bad. Well I approached my sister with Lucifer, and he saw she had another cat. So curious he stretched out his neck to smell Mally. Mally, stressed, and fearful, hissed a blue streak at poor Lou. Well it startled the cat and he jumped back a little then was like "Wait a minute this is MY house bitch!" And hissed right back, it was soooo funny.

Mally hid for about a month before he started coming out and stuff. Now, after almost a year the boys love one another and it is going to be hard to separate them when my sister finally does move. He is O'Mally the Cautious.

Halloween

So I was born on Halloween, October 31st, 1988. I was born on my Grandfather's birthday, and it's something I've always loved. I work hard to cherish the memories I have of my grandfather, and I make sure that I enjoy my birthday every year. This year I am dressing up as a dark fairy. I made my costume myself. I love to make home made things like that. The skirt is black and purple taffeta. I have a black undershirt that goes under one of my corsets (so it is work appropriate)

Sunday morning I am taking my mother and grandmother up to Fort Snelling National Cemetery to visit my grandfather's grave. That evening I am going trick-pr-treating with Cassie, and Nick and Auroah (Rory). She's going to be Aurora from Sleeping beauty so I am going to call myself Maleficent! How cute right?

A little about Nick and Cass and Rory.... I have been best friends with Cassie since we were five.

When I was sixteen, I moved to the town I live in now and met Nick. (I don't have a pic on me and him) It was through a small party at my place that Nick and Cassie met. Little over a year ago they were married and not very long afterwards were blessed with my beautiful niece, Rory.

Anyway back to the topic at hand..Halloween. It's a great night. I pity the people who feel it is devil worship...more so I pity those who don't know the origins of the day. What is means to those of us of the Pagan community. But I don't want to get all religious on my second post. Maybe one day I'll get more in depth in my particular beliefs but I won't now.

You know, because it was my birthday I went trick-or-treating until I turned 18, hahaha how great is that? The sad thing is that I looks several years younger than what I am, so at 18 people were saying "You've got to be about 14, aren't you too old for this?"

The year I turned three, we have a Halloween blizzard. My mom scrapped my costume and instead put me in my yellow snow suit, and called me a banana. We still went out and between me and my big sister we got like..half the candy people had because I guess no body went out.

When I was born, my sister was 6, and I guess she was upset...at first..because she was worried that she wouldn't get to go trick-or-treating. Well our dad did take her out that night. For the first few years of my life she would tell people it was her sister's birthday and they'd give HER an extra piece of candy "for your little sister." And when I did get to go out..she would get all the candy I was too small to eat.

I am excited for this year. I get sad...I miss my grandfathers at this time of year. One was born on October 30th, the other on the 31st. They're both gone now, and i was close to both of them. But since my 19th birthday, I have found ways to honor them and make sure I have a great birthday exactly like they would have wanted me to. They'd be upset if I was sad on my birthday for missing them, I know how they were...and how I still believe they are.

Anyway, I am looking forward to a nice, peaceful, quiet birthday this year. I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween! ^_^ Pictures of me, and Rory will be up probably on the First.

Introduction

An introduction so you all can get to know me. My name is Alex...but as an inside joke most of my closest friends call me Goddess and so I have taken it for a pen name. I am 21 at the moment, I was born on Halloween, so in less than a week I will be 22. I work as a third key manager for a Claire's store. I love it. I really enjoy working in retail, call me crazy but I do. I adore children too, and I don't any brats in my store so that makes things nice.

I still live with my parents, as well as my older sister, and an uncle. We've got two cats and a dog. I am looking for a second job and when I find it, I will start going to school. I want to get a degree in business management with a focus on finances, and employee relations. I want to open my own club... and I want one in at least four cities, so I will have to work hard for that.

I have a boyfriend who lives about 7 hours away. I wish we were closer, the distance is extremely hard, but there it is. We'll be together soon I know so until then I just chin up and deal with it as best as I can, and he does the same.

I plan on talking about a large variety of things in this blog. Life in general and the things that happen in it. My work and co-workers for one...perhaps a customer I had that day or something. My family and loved ones. The cats too...they are so naughty! They're both less than two years old and so silly. Occasionally I'll do a V-Blog I am sure, always fun there, especially where the cats or my little niece are concerned. You'll probably get to hear a lot of her.

I love music, I enjoy wresting. I write...a lot..fantasy stories mostly. And I have a lot of opinions that I would love to share and start some great discussions. I try to look at the bright side of things but I do have a temper, and I plan on letting that loose here as well. As a warning, I do cuss like a sailor...I've gotten better over time but as I lose my temper it gets a lot worse so just a heads up for you all.

Really I think that that is about it for now. You'll learn more about me as the days go on and about how I work. I hope you enjoy the things I have to say! ^_^
