Wrong Side of the Bed

Not a lot to report on today. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed today...almost literally lol... and have pretty much been in a relativity foul mood all day. But I did my best to be as cheerful as I could at work, and once I got home Jay cheered me up a lot.

My Teddybear came to visit me on my lunch break and that helped a lot. And then when he walked me back to my work he agreed to buy me the new nail polish we FINALLY got back in.

It is Crackle Nail Polish.... Yes the Katy Perry stuff but not her brand. It is the Clarie's brand, that's the company I work for. I've had the silver for quite a long time now but we got the black and the hot pink back in. Now I have all 3!!!

If you don't know how the crackle works let me tell you! You paint a solid color on your nails different from the color of the crackle color you want to use. And then you use the crackle after it the first color dries. It's going to break up and crack apart so the bottom color shows through.

Tonight I cleaned my nails and painted them in alternate black and medium pink colors on both hands. On my thumbs and pinkies (black base color) I put the pink crackle on. On the index and ring fingers (the pink base color) I used the black crackle, and then on both black middle fingers I used the silver crackle. Then I put the hot pink crackle on my already black toe nails. ^_^

I lllloooooove it! Its my new favorite. I'm not really into the new big fads like this but I really do just LOVE how the crackle looks! WHOO HOO ROCK ON!!!

So in other news I have the next 3 days off of work now. Excited about it. Jay and I are going swimming tomorrow. We haven't been in about a week or so, so I am happy about that too :D

Also hmmm I had something else to say but now I can't seem to remember it. The hell? hahaha! Oh well, moving on....

Tomorrow when I post I'll talk about the food stamp application process and other monetary issues as well as let you know how the day Jay and I planned for tomorrow went. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Note: Other things I want to talk about over the next few days...

  • recent movies we've watched
  • cooking blog
  • tv shows I've fallen in love with
I am sure there's more haha but I can't think of anything. REALLY excited that i'll be home in a month if only for a few days. I miss Cassie and my niece, and my nephew even if I haven't bet him yet I still miss him. And I miss my momma and daddy. I miss my sister and more than anyone I miss my dog :(

As of right now I'm missing anything else I wanted to mention haha so that's about it. TTYL peeps!

Interesting Day

So despite being tired and sleepy last night I didn't fall asleep till sometime after 3:30 in the morning. It sucked too let me tell you, lol. Over this last week that's how I've been, not falling asleep till 3 or later even, then I've been sleeping till noon. Well I was really exhausted last night and even if I had fallen asleep early I knew my body needed to sleep in late. I also had to be to work at noon today. So, I asked Jay to set the alarm for 10 so I'd have time to shower and get ready.

I don't fall asleep till after 3:30 and then I suddenly woke up at 10:30.....Jay'd forgotten to set the alarm when he'd come to bed like I asked. I was damn lucky I woke up when I did lol. I wasn't mad or anything, just wanted that extra half hour to shower and dry my hair so it wasn't a big deal.

I worked from 12-4.. a nice short shift that flew by because Columbia is doing this thing called Show me Games where baseball, softball and soccer teams come from all over to play. Between games they come to the mall. This weekend and last weekend too. so the store was PACKED! There were 4 of us working and we were still running around like mad.

But it wasn't the traffic in the mall the bugged me. It was the traffic on the streets....

So if I take the freeway to work, from entrance to exit it's at most a 3 minuet drive for me. I go to get off the freeway and the ramp is so clogged and backed up with vehicles it was going back onto the freeway itself. The light at the other end turned green just as I stopped and i thought I wouldn't make it..especially with the people in the line who didn't realize that green means go! Haha I got really lucky, I was the second to last vehicle before the light turned yellow which is awesome. So I take my left off the exit. There are only 3 lanes, 2 left turns lanes and 1 right turn lane. I was in the outside lane because my next turn was going to be a right.

So I take my left and am crossing the bridge over the freeway and as I approach the set of lights at the other end, the person a head of me stops. Our light is green, had no clue why we were stopping.. till i realized the traffic light at the NEXT stop was red and traffic was backed up into OUR intersection. This just goes to show how dumb the drivers int his place are... there are signs ALL OVER that area right beside the lights up on the post that says "DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION".

Okay, I understand this amount of traffic is not the usual, but this area is still extremely packed even in the middle of a weekday, that's how bad that is, so imaging how much worse it is now.... So as I'm waiting at my green light to actually go, the exit ramp for the freeway going the opposite way I'd come from is directly on my right. That too is backed up all the way down the nice long ramp and back onto the freeway. Here's the kicker... JUST as me and the 2 vehicles a head of me are finally able to move again a couple of people from the ramp try to shoot out and cut us off one by one! What the hell!? They couldn't wait for their OWN green light? Really?

Well I wasn't about to let anyone in front of me they can all wait their turns, so screw them! At the next light I got over and took a right. It's the sneaky back way to get to the mall, and there was no traffic there to bother me either haha! In the end I won.

At 3 Jay stopped by work, brought me a water and told me and my boss that there'd been an accident on the freeway. With the way the people'd been driving it didn't surprise me one little bit. He hung around the mall till I was off work and we had an early dinner together. When we left I went home and he picked his mom up. Well i didn't take the back way to leave (because I would have had to take a few lefts with no light to let me go) So I just went by the stop lights. The first light I come to has 2 left turn lanes, a straight lane and a right turn lane. The lines are long both in front of me and behind me. Just as I'm getting an opening to get into the nearest left turn lane (taking the freeway back yay!) the asshat right behind me tries to get over and force his way past...of COURSE he didn't use his blinker either, that'd be TOO easy. So he almost rear ended me because I was getting over at the same time (I actually had my blinker on btw) And then he gives me the dirty look like I did something wrong even though it was my turn.

No one uses their blinkers down here, and no one... NO ONE turns into their proper lanes unless there is a lot of other traffic around. It drives me up the wall. People even use the turning lanes int he middle of roads to pull out into and use like a second lane until they can get onto the right side of the road. If I'm not a really good mix of defensive and aggressive driver, I will die in a car accident down here before I get to move back home. The drivers here suck! They still aren't as bad an the people in Miami though *headdesk* After that nothing happened thank the gods. I was happy to see there weren't any idiots on the actual freeway.

On a better note, Jay and I went to see Friends with Benefits tonight. It was really good. Not as good as Horrible Bosses, but still really good. You should all go see it!

That's it for tonight!

EIGHT MONTHS! Lets catch up!

It's seriously been eight months since my last post! lol wow that's sad! But a lot has happened in that time too! I've moved from Minnesota to Missouri, where I am currently living with my boyfriend. I miss my friends and family a lot but we talk all the time and I'll get to go home and see them in a couple of weeks <3!

I have also begun a "new" job. I transferred from the store I worked at to the one down here. It's a lot bigger, there's more employees and the pace is several times faster than what I was used to before. But I am learning to keep up quickly! I love the challenge. Also this place may have more employees, but it also has next to no drama which is really great. Also, my boss at this new store is firm but not in an intimidating way. I like her a lot and really respect her. There isn't one new coworker that I dislike, they're all really great people, and that's hard to find, especially when you work in retail.

There's been a down side as my boyfriend has been out of work so money's been tight. But we're living and we're doing what we have to to get by. We're happy, I'm happy with him. After the time we've been living together I can't imagine my life without him lol.

A couple days after I moved my sister Cassandra had her baby.. FINALLY!!!! A beautiful baby boy they named Leo. I am so depressed that I haven't gotten an opportunity to meet him yet. His older sister Rory is my god daughter, and though I'm not technically his, I still feel as if I am. Every time I think about him I think about how unfair it is that everyone else has gotten to see him and hold him, and I still haven't. It really makes me cry.

Still I get to go home every couple of months and I'll get to meet him finally when I go home for Rory's second birthday in August. I'll be okay until then!

I got some great news back in April before I moved. My big sister if pregnant. It's a complicated thing, but she's going to be a great mommy. She's due in December, which means that I am going to be an aunt 3 times by the end of the year! I can't wait to find out the gender so I can make a baby blanket for her! She insists it doesn't have to be gender specific but she done'st understand the meaning it has to me to make it that way. This is about more than just the baby. It's about her and it's about me as the creator and my gift to that precious little one that she's bringing into the world. Oh well, she doesn't have to get it I guess, as long as I do that's what matters.

Lets see, what else is there? OH!! Found out this week that my parents found a new house. They get to move in on September First, which means that while Jay and I are home the last weekend of August they'll be enlisting us to help move things. The nice thing is it is a four bedroom. They'll have a room, My sister will have a room, my uncle will have a room, and I don't know if they'll use the 4th room for the baby or for guests or whatever, but I do know my says Jay and I can have ti whenever we come home so that makes me happy.

I've been sick a lot in the last month and a week or so since I've been here. We've undergone a MASSIVE heat wave since the 4th day I've been here. Not a single day under 90 degrees, and the humidity is about 10% worse than back home... i got really sick twice in the first 2 1/2 weeks.. since then I've been better but my nose will NOT stop draining. *bangs her head on the wall*

Well things are going pretty good then if that's the worst of my problems right? HAHA!

Alright that's about all I've got right now. I'll be sure to post more! Laterz!
